Additional cover in Holiday home Insurance

Norwich Union charges £745 a year to cover a four-bedroom house in London owned by a 50-year-old. Additional cover for a two-bedroom property in the Yorkshire Dales costs a further £375. While the excess on the main property is £50, the excess on the second property is £250. Churchill charges only £282 to cover the London house and an additional £174 for the Yorkshire home, falling to £163 if window locks and alarms are fitted. County Insurance, a specialist insurer, charges £482 for the country house, while Towergate, another specialist underwriter, charges £593.
